"Fitzgerald Indicts Two in Plame Scandal"
RedState.Org takes a shot at comedy in a mock news report.
“Lawyers close to the Plame investigation say that Fitzgerald will indict Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson for obstruction of justice and perjury. In addition, Wilson will be indicted for outing his wife, who was a covert CIA agent. Additional charges are being considered against Valerie Plame for her role in selecting her own husband for a government assignment in a concerted political effort to undermine the administration.”
Valerie Plame, if undercover, should not have been involved in the selection of her husband, Joe Wilson, to take a trip at our expense. She also violated the ethics rules of nepotism. Lastly, Joe was selected because he opposed the Administrations position on Iraq. This is a violation of the CIA’s charter. (Do you wonder why we get bad intelligence?).
Joe broke the law when he went public with his high-profile (and highly discredited) findings.
The Independent Counsel, Fitzgerald, looked intently at a New York Times reporter, Judith Miller (now an outcast at her paper), for not reporting the story. Fitzgerald was only able to get Ms. Miller to testify if she didn’t have to “out” her other sources on the story that she did not write.
With all of this craziness, RedState.Org may be closer to the truth than they think.
After two years it looks good for Plame, Wilson, Libby, Rove, and the janitor for the CIA to be indicted.
Really, we will learn the findings of Mr. Fitzgerald this week. As you can see, I haven’t a clue as to why this investigation has taken two years.
