Vision Escapes Them

This cartoon is from the Sacramento Bee. It is difficult to believe that a left leaning paper would reproduce such a cartoon.

Feigning anger (a plan hatched 2 years ago) about not completing a report on how intelligence was used in the run-up to war, the ultra-progressive wing of the Democrat party demanded a closed executive session of the Senate. It is ironic that these Senators want a report on intelligence released while making their case in a SECRET session.

The once proud Democrat party has been taken over by their progressive extremists. This group has no idea how to address America’s centrists. Their whole vision for America is to demean its values. No vision, just attack their opponents.

Democrats have always considered themselves as inclusive. What I have learned is that they are inclusive when people agree with them. In Baltimore we find that it is perfectly acceptable to attack a black Republican. From RedState.org - The Bigots of Baltimore. What is the vision of the ultra-progressive wing of the Democrat party? Based upon the 2004 election I would guess that we should look and act more like the French. France is a socialist society that may be the largest welfare state in the world. Double digit unemployment and low productivity prevail.

I have to wonder if the “whole truth” about the war is what they are really after. There is no doubt that there would be a howl if Senate Republicans decided to investigate Sandy Berger's pants-gate, Joe Wilson, his wife, and how classified information is continuously leaked from the CIA and State to the press.

Why is it that Libby’s attorneys need a security clearance and the press doesn’t? How about the jury? I predict that the public trial of Libby will be, in part, conducted in secret in order to protect the press and the CIA. The public may never learn the truth about the Plugged CIA Leak case.

All of this is a distraction. America has problems to face but those problems can’t be addressed until we decide the appropriate role for each level of government. We have a bridge to nowhere but can’t find $50 billion to cut from the budget because local governments can’t do without this assistance.

If the real Democrats don’t regain control of the party America will go looking for another party with vision and answers.
