Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that the only good editorial or opinion piece is one that makes me look good or agrees with my opinion. Such an idea is ridiculous. The work that the City and City Council does should primarily be news stories. The fact that no news story was written, only an opinion piece, was the issue since the Managing Editor stated that she was responsible for reporting the news.

Twelve employees retired the year before the pension rate was increased. The year after, 40 did so, said Stark.

There is nothing “cryptic” about what is going on during City Council meetings. Maybe the reporter is simply not used to the City Council openly discussing issues at length.

Is this an issue or what elected officials are expected to do?

The campaign season starts in earnest next week when we hit the 75 days until the election mark. If the Republicans don’t shoot themselves in the foot they might narrowly remain in control – that is a big if.
