California Legislature – More Spending Bills?

The Senate Appropriations Committee meets at 9:30 a.m. to consider more than 160 bills and the Assembly Appropriations Committee is scheduled to take up about 90 pieces of legislation today.
Californians have large deficits into infinity but the Senate Appropriations Committee can find time to work on 160 bills? And people wonder why the legislature is dysfunctional?
And, of course, the State Supreme Court turned down a review of the two-thirds requirement to raise taxes. At least one group in the state listened to the public.
